Event : Conference on Global Economic Sanctions

ICC-UAE organized a conference on "Global Economic Sanctions" on Tuesday 27th November, 2012 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Deira Creek Dubai in cooperation with Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The Conference is sponsored by Al Tamimi & Co.

Mr. Saeed Obaid Al Jarwan said that ICC-UAE since its establishment is committed to bring to bankers, corporates and lawyers, exciting topics that are relevant to them , topics that educate us , enlighten us and give us the wherewithal's to work more efficiently , safely and proactively in our ever changing, challenging and many a times mystifying and frustrating business world.

The Chairman of ICC-UAE Dr. Ahmed Saif Belhasa welcomed the participants to the event in absentia through his welcome address which was read by Mr. Laxmanan Sankaran – Head of Banking of Commission- ICC – UAE.

The conference provided a unique public-private forum to bring awareness to the audience on the procedures applied by the Anti-Money Laundry and Suspicious Cases Unit of the UAE Central bank in relation to the enforcement of the resolutions issued by the UN Security Council regarding the Economic Sanctions and applicable penalties, Highlights of the Global Economic Sanctions, the impact of extraterritorial application of economic sanctions for banking industry, and practical problems of trading with countries affected by these sanctions in compliance with the recent Global Economic Sanctions. The working language was English.
