1 Briefing Session on ICC & Its Services 18th January 2016 Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry The Briefing aimed to raise awareness of the role of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) - the World Business Organization having a worldwide network of 6,500,000 companies from more than 130 countries. The event showcased how ICC provides a forum for businesses and other organizations to examine and better comprehend the nature and significance of the major shifts taking place in the world economy. The session also addressed how ICC develops global business policy views on key issues that affect the ability of companies to trade and invest across borders and to meet the challenges and opportunities of globalization.
2 Dubai: 4th Annual International Arbitration Summit 27th January 2016 Shangri – La Hotel, Dubai Back for the 4th time, ICC – UAE participated as supporting organization in Dubai to the 4th Annual International Arbitration Summit. The event discussed the latest local and international arbitration trends and recent changes in global arbitration as well as arbitration practices from Turkey, India, North Africa and the Middle East. Prominent local international speakers such as Prof. Dr Tarek Fouad A. Riad Chairman, Dubai International Arbitration Center and Sami Houerbi Director, ICC Dispute Resolution Services for Eastern Mediterranean, Middle-East & Africa, shared their knowledge and experiences and discussed tips and tricks in arbitration.
3 8th E–Services Excellence Award 2nd February 2016 The Conrad Hotel, Dubai ICC – UAE participated as a supporting organization at the 8th E – Services Excellence Award (ESEA), held under the patronage of H. H. Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai. The ESEA is an annual appreciation ceremony which aims to encourage the conversion to the online channels for doing business, and awarded the highest adopters of Dubai Trade’s e-Services.
4 4th MENA Conference on International Arbitration 11th – 13th April 2016 Park Hyatt Hotel, Dubai, UAE ICC – UAE participated as supporting organization in 4th ICC MENA Conference in International Arbitration on 11th – 13th April 2016 at Park Hyatt Hotel, Dubai, UAE. This fourth annual conference has been a “must attend” for arbitration professionals who wanted to keep up to date on the latest arbitration developments in the MENA region. The conference offered a line-up of top-class speakers, topical discussions and relevant news. The conference is also an excellent opportunity to network.
5 5th ICC – UAE Trade Finance Conference 25th April 2016 Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, UAE ICC-UAE organized the 5th ICC-UAE Trade Finance Conference on 25th April 2016 at Intercontinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City. The Conference provided an update on the sanctions overview, an insight on ICC Trade Finance Survey 2015 results, outlooks for business in UAE and many more topics of local and international interests that are relevant to business to work more efficiently, safely and proactively in our ever changing and challenging world of Trade Finance.

The Conference has been signature event of ICC – UAE for the last four years and always received an overwhelming response attended by more than 70 delegates from banks and large corporate each time.
6 2nd Briefing Session on ICC & its Services 25th May 2016 Ajman Chamber of Commerce & Industry Following the success of the first Briefing Session, ICC – UAE organized the 2nd Briefing Session on ICC & Its Services held on 25th May 2016 in partnership with Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The event highlighted how ICC provides a forum for businesses and other organizations to examine and better comprehend the nature and significance of the major shifts taking place in the world economy. The session also addressed how ICC develops global business policy views on key issues that affect the ability of companies to trade and invest across borders and to meet the challenges and opportunities of globalization. The session also revealed how we all are stakeholders of ICC.
7 ICC-UAE Ramadan Majlis – Iftar / Suhoor 1st July 2016 Dubai World Trade Centre In the spirit of sharing the Holy Month of Ramadan, ICC – UAE with the support of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized a Ramadan Majlis – Iftar / Suhoor from 7:00 PM – 12:00 Am at Dubai World Trade Centre. The event was attended by ICC – UAE Members and Mr. Fady Asly, Chairman of ICC Georgia. The event provided a networking opportunity to ICC – UAE Members from the same industry and a platform between ICC-UAE members and the Secretariat to discuss any challenges and opportunities.
8 ICC Commission Report on Financial and International Arbitration 16th November 2016 Capital Club, DIFC, Dubai, UAE The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and the ICC-UAE Commission on Arbitration and ADR launched the new ICC Commission Report on Financial Institutions and International Arbitration on 16th November 2016 at Capital Club, Dubai, UAE.
This one-of-a-kind interdisciplinary Report addressed the potential benefits of international commercial arbitration in banking and financial matters and some common misperceptions about the process. It concluded with a series of detailed recommendations for tailoring the arbitration procedure to suit the needs of the banking and finance sectors.
The Report also proposed a series of recommendations to address issues susceptible to increase the attractiveness of international arbitration to financial institutions.

9 Exhibition Afghanistan 6 – 7th December 2016 JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai ICC – UAE participated as supporting organization for the "Exhibition Afghanistan" organized by Afghanistan's Ministry of Commerce & Industries and the U.S. Agency for International Development held on 6 – 7th December 2016 at JW Marriot Marquis Hotel, Dubai, UAE.

Exhibition Afghanistan was the first international tradeshow dedicated to promoting exquisite, high-end Afghan products on the global marketplace. The event showcased silk scarves and carpets, spices (saffron and asafetida), packaged dried fruit and nuts, and marble and precious gemstones – all selected based on their growing supply-base availability, competitiveness, and overseas demand.
The event connected 40 of Afghanistan’s top exporters with leading international buyers during two days of business-to-business meetings. The general public also had the opportunity to purchase the Afghan products during three full days of business-to-consumer events held at the Dubai Mall from 8 – 10th December 2016.

Exhibition Afghanistan - Dubai is part of a US Agency for International Development (USAID) effort to enhance the connection between Afghan producers and international markets. It was the first of many quarterly trade events USAID is rolling out to raise awareness of the exclusive goods produced in Afghanistan and to increase Afghan exports to major international trade hubs that will also include New Delhi, Istanbul, and the Far East in the coming years. Exhibition Afghanistan was a private sector/trader led working in close partnership with USAID’s Office of Economic Growth (OEG) and OEG’s implementing partners.
10 PayExpo MENA 2016 6-7th December 2016 InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, Dubai ICC – UAE participated as supporting organization for the "PayExpo MENA 2016" organized by Clarion Events held on 6 – 7th December 2016 at InterContinental Hotel, Dubai Festival City, Dubai, UAE. PayExpo MENA brought the entire payments ecosystem together to network and learn in one of the fastest growing and most competitive markets for smart payments in the region.

Hundreds of decision makers from the retail, banking, transport, entertainment and leisure and telecoms industries met to discuss key MENA high growth targets, hear case studies from across the globe and try out the latest payment solutions and technologies that will revolutionize their payment strategies in the year ahead.
