Dubai: 4th Annual International Arbitration Summit

ICC – UAE participated as supporting organization in the 4th Annual International Arbitration Summit on 27th January 2016 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai, UAE. The event was attended with 119 delegates and guests from Dubai and the region.

The event discussed the latest local and international arbitration trends and recent changes in global arbitration as well as arbitration practices from Turkey, India, North Africa and the Middle East. Prominent local international speakers such as Prof. Dr Tarek Fouad A. Riad Chairman, Dubai International Arbitration Center and Sami Houerbi Director, ICC Dispute Resolution Services for Eastern Mediterranean, Middle-East & Africa, shared their knowledge and experiences and discussed tips and tricks in arbitration.

The ICC International Court of Arbitration is the world's leading body for the resolution of international disputes by arbitration. The ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR is the global forum of around 690 members coming from more than 92 countries including lawyers, in-house counsel, arbitrators, mediators, law professors and experts in various dispute resolution fields. All contribute to ensure that ICC dispute resolution services adapt to the legislative and technological development

Composed of more than 35 corporate and individual members, the ICC-UAE Commission on Arbitration aims at:

  • Promoting in the UAE the settlement of international disputes by means of arbitration, mediation, expertise, dispute boards and other forms of dispute resolution;
  • Providing guidance on a range of topics of current relevance to the world of international dispute resolution, with a view to improving dispute resolution services;
  • Creating a link among arbitrators, counsel, and users to enable ICC dispute resolution to respond effectively to users’ needs.
