Profile

Nabil Al Tawil is a Chartered Construction Manager and an Accredited Arbitrator with over 40 years of experience in the construction industry. He has a wealth of project management and dispute resolution experience gained through working on a variety of major building and infrastructure projects in the region, in addition to a number of Airport, Medical, Power, Oil & Gas and military facilities.

Dr. Nabil is a qualified Civil Engineer with a PhD and an MSc in Construction Management. In addition to his distinguished academic qualifications and career as an Associate Professor of Project Management, he is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a professional Member of the Project Management Institute and a Member of the Dispute Resolution Board Federation in the US. In addition, Nabil is an RICS Accredited Mediator and an accredited Arbitrator by Abu Dhabi (ADCCAC) and Dubai (DIAC) International Arbitration Centres and the Iraqi Ministry of Justice.

His experience covers all aspects of pre and post contract works, using numerous forms of contracts used by different employers in the MENA region, particularly FIDIC & NEC. He has assessed and evaluated numerous claims that involve Quantum, Extensions of Time, disruption, prolongation and acceleration claims. Dr Nabil has also provided advice and support through actively working with Tribunal appointed Experts on a number of cases, preparing and presenting Expert Statements and Responses on quantum matters on a number of litigation cases on Engineering, Procurement, Commissioning (EPC) contract cases here in UAE and Kuwait. Furthermore, he have actively participated in numerous Arbitration and DRB cases, as a member of a Panell, Chairman or individually as a sole Arbitrator.
