Since 2000, Z D Sarguroh has been associated with Port Privatization & Development. when Privatized Z D Sarguroh was In-charge of Penron Shipping Port Project and played a important role to establish, formulate and implement the Privatized Port Procedures. He has interests in Air, Sea, Road, Rail Transportation, Environment, Pollution Control and other projects as well as privatization.

Z D Sarguroh having International experience since 1986 in Global Maritime & Shipping field is a Infrastructure Project visionary and Proposer-Developer-Manager- Executor.was instrumental in privatisation of various Sea Port in India, Conceptual Planner of Port in India for Iron & Coal Berth at Marmugao and Paradip. Z D Sarguroh has studied most Indian ports, Road & Rail connectivity with focus on Infrastructure Development objective.

Z D Sarguroh has had very many experiences of dealing with all types of ships and situations and has been innovative in resolving problem, serving the customers and keeping good relations as well. Besides, has also resolved / revived some of the contracts which were almost on the verge of collapse. Chief responsibilities handled during my career include:

Port Development & Management

• Till recently worked on a $400 million port infrastructure development project in Orissa, $ 150 million at Haldia, and $ 175 million at Kakinada.
• Core member for Project studies, Infrastructure development activities.
• Key member for obtaining first ever-Environmental Clearance (NOC) from Govt Of India for a green field port project.
• Obtaining NOC to develop & Operate private railway tracks in India.
• Conducted numerous feasibility studies including
  • At Japanese port for cargo handling & operations, Ship operations and pilotage.
  • At Indian Coast for development of new ports, improvement of existing ones.
  • Inland Water Transportation and River Navigation.
  • Operating Indian Railways by Private operators and enhancement of Indian railway capacity.

Achievements

• Spearheaded the privatisation of Kakinada Deep Water Port.
  • Right from tendering to building a team, establishing International Standards, setting Procedures for Safe Port Operations, setting tariffs, increasing productivity to making it the Number 1 minor port in India.

Fleet Operations

• More recently have established Ship Owning & Ship Management Company.
• Have handled group-chartering activities
• Complete management of ships.

Restructuring

• Carrying out Internal Assessment of the company to identify areas for change, plan & implement restructuring exercise including expansion and diversification of shipping business.

• Have headed the Quality functions and laid down safety management system.
• Carrying out internal audits for ensuring compliance with ISM Code and ISO 9002.

Achievement

• Successfully revised & implemented company procedures in a short span of 10 months on board 46 ships at Precious Shipping Public Company Ltd.
• Instrumental in 39 ships receiving Safety Management Certificate (SMC) for compliance with IMO’s, ISM code and ISO 9002.
• Have written company manual for ISMA code of conduct and ISO 9002.
